In the latest film to the zombie franchise, Land of the Dead, the "dead" have already inherited the earth, except for a city and some parts north in Canada. The city is called Fiddler's Green and its basicallly a refuge for humans. zombies own anything beyond the perimeters.
I usually dont see films I know that are gonna suck, and I knew this one would, but some small part of me told me to give it a chance. So basically the reason why i watched this movie was to see things blow up and zombies get their heads torn apart, basically some mindless action, just for a change. The mindless action was well...retarted, and just plain stupid. Sure zombies got killed, but it was illogically done and greatly idiotic. For instance in some scenes the supposed slow-walking zombies were actually out-running the humans! I couldnt take it. It was like watching the tortise gain some speed from out of no where, catching up to the hair, and eating it alive.
One thing that I thought was going to be an improvement at first was that the zombies learned from their mistakes. In one scene a zombie grabs a gun from a dead human and learns that it can fire small pieces of metal at incredible speeds. Ooo what incredible intelligence. It was a good idea but its uses were put in the story with poor effort, shame.
If your looking for a zombie movie, rent one the classics. Such as the original Dawn of the Dead or Night of the Living Dead, they actually have good material and are simply better films.
