You might be asking why I have been doing all of the reveiws lately, well Rocksolidus has been busy at the moment, and while he does still go see the films, he doesnt have the proper time he wishes to write an adequate review, so he asked me to take over until next week when he will be free most of the time. Besides I am the much bigger Star Wars fan anyway.
If you were expecting this film to be as bad as Episode I & II then you will be greatly surprised. Revenge of the Sith is remarkably better than Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, and serves as a great redeemer to those pieces of trash while ending the Star Wars saga with a bang!
One thing that differs this from the other prequals is that the emtional connection between characters has vastly improved and that is mostly because the acting is much better in Revenge of the Sith. Ewan McGregor and Ian McDiarmid steal the show with great perfromances, and even Hayden Christensen delivers a fine performance, especailly when he is being seduced and is finally engulfed with the darkside.
There are a total of five lightsaber duels in this film and each has its own goodness and value. The best duels however are the two that are the climax of the film: Yoda vs. Darth Sidious (Emperor) and Anikan vs. Obi Wan. Those two are very emotional and amazing, the best two in the entire Star Wars saga. Obi Wan vs Anikan however is...get ready...  the best duel in the history of cinema! Yes, thats correct. Just flawless an epic!
There are also many more battles in this film than any other Star Wars. Right when the movie begins we are thrust into an ariel battle in which Anikan and Obi Wan are manuevering their cruisers to General Gervious ship to resuce the Chancellor. The battles on the wookie planet Kashyyk are top notch. Even though it is another heavy dose of CG, it isnt as annoying as the last two, and it looks much better. The Visual Effects, Sound, Sound Editing, and Art Direction are flawless in Revenge of the Sith.
The point when the movie really begins to fly and become masterful entertainment, is when Anikan has been turned to the darkside by Darth Sidious and is then ordered to kill off the remaining Jedi. Sidious then sends orsders to all the Clone army commanders to eradicate the Jedi that are accompanying them in battle. The score by John Williams is amazing during these sequences, and fresh mix of sorrow with an operatic feel. Then we are lead to the two brilliantly epic duels which I have already dicussed.
There are a few bad points in the film, the worst being the horrible dialouge. I am surprised the actors did such a good job with the horrible script by who..... yeah thats rigth, George Lucas. The movie is still a major dose of CG, but as I have said its not as annoying in this film, less of a hinderance than the other two.
Now that you know it is defiantely the best of the prequals, you are now asking (dont deny it), is it as good or better than any of the originals? Almost. It approaches the originals in greatness but doesnt quite reach their level.
