Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Rated PG: for quirki situations, action and mild language
Running Time- 106 min.
Director Tim Burtons mind is one of genuine creativity. The aspects of his films are like none others, and his directorial vision is most of the time pure magic, and known for the quirky characteristics it usuall carries. Truely Tim Burton is one of a kind.
In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which is based on the novel and not the original film, Burton once again shows off his skills, and the quirkiness. Most everyone in america is famliar with the story, so why bother wasting time on explaining it. Poor kid finds ticket, poor kid takes grampa to Wonka's factory, poor kid meets Wonka, etc. Lets move on.
The sets in this film are really amazing. The crookedness of Charlie's house the amazing rooms and labratories in Wonka's factory. definately deserves some recognition awards-wise. They are real eyecandy.
The master actor, the sultan of film, the fantastico Johnny Depp plays Willy Wonka, and as usual Depp is amazing. He adds a wierdness to Wonka that was missing from the original, simply put Depp is an acting genius! Freddie Highmore (Depp's co-star from Finding Neverland) plays Charlie excellently, and the guy who plays Charlies Grandpa aso does very well, and is quite humorous.
The story is heart-warming, a littledark, fun, adventerous, and comdeic. Its got everything. It even has a little backstory on Wonka's in childhood with his menacing father and also how Wonka got the oompa Loompa's, who are all played by one man, Deep Roy, and he achieves unparalleled greatness in his role.
There is not much in this film that i didnt like. The only thing I didnt really like was that it had the potential to be better, but you take what you get, and what we got was a fun fantastic film that is for all ages. Yes all ages, anyone would love this film.
