Going into this film, I was expecting another Lost In Translation, the most overrated peice
of trash ever made, which I only saw because it got some major Oscar noms And really that is the only reason I saw Sideways.
I was pleasently surprised by the greatness of this near perfect film. It was funny, heart-warming,
sad, and a fun movie to witness. Miles (Giamatti) and Jack (Church) are great on screen together. There journey is filled
with adventure that is not swashbuckling or edge of your seat thriller, but a halarious tour of the winecountry, and one mans
journey for darkness back to happiness.
Alexander Payne directed this film with a great touch. You can tell this is his film, for
About Schmidt had the same feel to it, and was also great. the Script was also written by Payne along with Jim Taylor. it
is masterful, that is all that needs to be said.
Sideways is on the best films of the year. I thought it was going to be boring and a "want
to run over fluffy bunnies" after seeing it type of thing. But I was dead wrong. It is a great movie, on that should be seen
and cherished. The Acting, Script, and Directing are top of the line.
-Acting is near flawlessness
-Script is outstanding
-Some parts are slow
