What I think- Underseen
If I asked you what film was the most critically praised of the year in 2004, what would you
say? Million Dollar Baby? The Aviator? Well it was neither of them, it was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Hailed by
nearly every single review out there, with over 50 four star ratings. A true gem in the film world. But your asking yourself
now "But Joekool, if it got such outstanding reviews, why havent i heard of it?" Well my follower it simply beacuse it was
a limited release. It only came out in areas with large populations. So if you live in a small town, such as me, chances are
you wouldnt see it in your local theater, but there occasions of that happening. The only other way you could know about it
is by being an avid film enthusiast like myself. Currently, however, this film, is everywhere on dvd, so go pick it up after
I tell you why.
The story is simply magnificent. A very well crafted romance, with the best screenplay ever
written. Charlie Kaufman is truly a genius. Really I am not overestimating my claim, it is the best there is. The plot is
very intrinsic and interesting, a quite original one at that, kinda rare these days. The ending is so wonderful that it makes
you want to say "That was wonderful."
Acting wise it is also fantastic. Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet have perfect chemistry, and
each gives one of the best performances of their career. The rest of the cast is great, Elijah Wood and Mark Ruffalo are awesome
in supporting roles.
My goodness what are you waiting for, This is the most ingenious romantic film out their,
it must be yours to see. Stop reading...Stop....STOP IT!!!! Go see this magnificent peice of work.
